Manchester United Newsletter: Tuesday 24th January
Covering: Players leaving on loan this week, Carabao Cup semi-final, Harry Kane transfer latest, Wayne Rooney tipped for Everton job and the race for top four.
Morning all,
Hope you are all finding ways to get over Sunday’s defeat. I don’t think it was all that hard to take, especially when you put everything into perspective.
Ultimately Mikel Arteta is three years into his rebuild at Arsenal, whereas Erik ten Hag has had six months. That’s the difference right now and I like the direction we are going with the Dutchman.
We are now into the final week of the transfer window, and I don’t expect United to make anymore incoming signings. We could see a few go out on loan — like Charlie Savage and Brandon Williams — but Ten Hag seems to double check everything when it comes to temporary moves.
Meanwhile, United turn their attention away from the Premier League for the next three matches. Steve Cooper says his Nottingham Forest want to attack their semi-final clash against United, which is something we welcome with open arms. Come have a go, by all means!
The Stretford End will soon be rid of any executive seating. This is something fans have been calling for since they were introduced.
Louis Saha thinks Harry Kane would be guaranteed to win the Premier League at Manchester United, while the striker keeps his cards close to his chest when it comes to new Tottenham contract.
Manchester United Women will play another WSL game at Old Trafford later this season and Wayne Rooney is being tipped for the Everton job.
Finally, Gary Neville gave his halfway predictions for the Premier League top four. He still thinks United will finish above Arsenal.
