Good morning.
Not a drop of alcohol touched over the weekend, but I woke up this morning feeling hungover after watching Manchester United suffer a 7-0 defeat against Liverpool an Anfield.
Erik ten Hag claims United “lost their heads” and Gary Neville hit out Bruno Fernandes after an embarrassing second half display.
Ten Hag said: “Second half it was not us. We didn’t play as a team. We didn’t stick to the plan. We didn’t do our jobs. We didn’t track back and it was really unprofessional.”
Meanwhile, Neville was having none of Fernandes’ demeanour at Anfield. He expects more from whoever is wearing the captain’s armband.
“Bruno Fernandes is stood in the centre circle with his arms raised saying ‘why is it me not coming off?’
“Some of his behaviour in the second half has been a disgrace. I’ve had enough of him throwing his arms about, not running about.”
It was United’s heaviest loss in a competitive game but we have little time to dwell on it. United need to lift themselves and get back on track this week.
The fans? It’s up to us to get behind the team.
Roll on Real Betis.
