Good morning!
Iβm writing this bright and early before we start our match coverage over on Stretty News. Manchester United will take on Melbourne Victory in their second game of the 2022 pre-season tour.
Firstly, check out our most recent Q&A where I had βClarkyβ give us some perspective as a Melbourne Victory supporter. Andrew hosts a podcast (For Vuckβs Sake) which focuses on the Melbourne based A-League side and has a great knowledge of the beautiful game in Australia. He also considers himself a Manchester United fan!
Lisandro Martinez will soon be announced as the latest addition to the squad, and weβre excited about his arrival. The Argentine told Arsenal to do one when they came knocking because he was never going to pick them over us. Not in a million years.
It is expected that Martinez will join up with the team in Australia to get some minutes under his belt on tour. I think this is the best way for new signings to familiarise themselves with new team-mates and the environment they will be working in for the upcoming season.
Finally, Barcelona wants Frenkie de Jong to join United. It now sounds like everything hangs on the playerβs decision. Find out what De Jong can bring here.
We recorded latest episode of the Strettycast last night. Listen on your favourite podcast apps here.
